Missouri State men’s basketball coach Cuonzo Martin has finalized the non-conference schedule for the 2024-25 season, featuring 11 games, including five home contests and a preseason exhibition. The Bears will kick off their season on Nov. 4 with a road game against Butler University at the historic Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. Butler, representing the Big East, finished 18-15 last season and competed in the NIT.
MSU will host a preseason exhibition against Southwest Baptist on Oct. 29 at Great Southern Bank Arena. The regular season home games will see visits from Missouri Southern (Nov. 11), Tulsa (Nov. 16), UT Arlington (Nov. 19), Lincoln University (Dec. 18), and UC Santa Barbara (Dec. 22).
“Bear fans, get ready for an action-packed season!” said Martin. “We’re excited to unveil our schedule and can’t wait to dive into the unique challenges each game brings. Our team has been putting in the work during the off-season, and we’re pumped to show off our progress and dedication on the court. Join us for every thrilling moment. We’re ecstatic to have you along for the ride!”
The Bears will also embark on a three-game trip to the Cayman Islands Classic from Nov. 24-26. They’ll open against High Point, followed by a matchup against either Old Dominion or Boston College. The final round will see MSU face one of several potential opponents, including Hampton, Boise State, South Dakota State, or Duquesne.
December’s schedule includes two challenging road games: Oral Roberts (Dec. 1) and Washington State (Dec. 14). Washington State, a formidable opponent, went 25-10 last season and finished second in the Pac-12 regular season before advancing to the NCAA Tournament.
Missouri State’s 20-game Missouri Valley Conference schedule will be announced later in September. Martin, who rejoined the program as head coach on March 27, brings an impressive resume with 264 career wins and nine postseason appearances, including four trips to the NCAA Tournament.
