Missouri Valley Conference 2024-25 Men’s Basketball: A Tight Race

The Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) 2024-25 men’s basketball season is off to a thrilling start, with a tightly contested race at the top. Bradley leads the pack with a 4-1 conference record, holding a narrow one-game advantage over eight teams tied at 3-2. Saturday’s action will feature three matchups between teams vying to gain ground in the crowded standings.

Close contests have been a defining feature this season, with over half of the league’s 30 games being decided by six points or fewer. Bradley has thrived under pressure, maintaining a perfect 2-0 record in close games and overtime matchups.

Road victories are also becoming more common, with MVC teams boasting a 14-16 record (.467) in league play—marking the best road win percentage in over a decade. This improvement surpasses the COVID-altered 2020-21 season and last year’s 47-73 road record.

Nationally, the MVC is ranked 10th in NCAA NET ratings, with three teams in the Top 100 (Drake, Bradley, and UNI) and four more in the Top 135. UNI leads the league in shooting efficiency, ranking second nationally in field goal percentage (51.6%), while Bradley is the nation’s top team in three-point accuracy (42.0%).

With parity and stellar performances across the board, the MVC promises an exciting season ahead.
