Cardinals Announce 26 Non-Roster Invitees for 2025 Spring Training

The St. Louis Cardinals unveiled their 26 non-roster invitees for the 2025 Spring Training camp in Jupiter, Florida, set to begin the second week of February. The list features a mix of top prospects, recent draft picks, and offseason acquisitions, promising an exciting look at the future of the organization.

Three recent first-round draft picks headline the roster: shortstop JJ Wetherholt (2024), outfielder Chase Davis (2023), and left-handed pitcher Cooper Hjerpe (2022). Joining them are standout prospects like Quinn Mathews, the 2024 MiLB & Baseball America Minor League Pitcher of the Year, and Jimmy Crooks, the 2024 Texas League MVP and Cardinals Minor League Player of the Year. Highly touted catching prospect Leonardo Bernal will also participate.

Several offseason acquisitions are set to make their Cardinals debut, including right-handed pitcher Michael Gomez, left-handed pitcher Oddanier Mosqueda, catcher Chance Sisco, infielder Jose Barrero, and outfielder Ryan Vilade.

Nine players will experience their first Major League camp, including pitchers Ian Bedell, Alex Cornwell, Edwin Nuñez, and Mathews; infielders R.J. Yeager and Wetherholt; and outfielders Nathan Church, Bryan Torres, and Davis.

Returning to camp are notable players like Max Rajcic, the 2023 Cardinals Minor League Pitcher of the Year, along with Andre Granillo, Drew Rom, Sammy Hernandez, Carlos Linárez, César Prieto, and Jeremy Rivas.

Pitchers and catchers will hold their first practice on February 12 at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium, with the full squad workout scheduled for February 17. Fans can look forward to seeing the future of the Cardinals in action as these prospects and newcomers showcase their talent in preparation for the 2025 season.
