Usman Nurmagomedov Beats Paul Hughes in Thrilling PFL Road to Dubai Title Fight

The PFL Road to Dubai Champions Series delivered a spectacular night of fights, headlined by Usman Nurmagomedov’s closely contested victory over Paul Hughes in their World Title bout. The five-round war between Dagestan’s Nurmagomedov and Ireland’s Hughes captivated fans, with Nurmagomedov remaining unbeaten after securing a majority decision (47-47, 48-46, 48-46).

Following the battle, Nurmagomedov praised his opponent, saying, “This is for you guys, Paul Hughes, you are the man, brother, you’re tough. I underestimated this guy. But I’m still undefeated, undisputed Bellator Lightweight Champion.”

Despite the loss, Hughes expressed his determination for a rematch, stating, “I thought I won the fight. I probably left some in the tank. We have to do the rematch in Belfast. I think I’ve earned this.”

England’s Ibragim Ibragimov continued his undefeated run with a unanimous decision over Kenny Mokhonoana, while Russia’s Renat Khavalov claimed victory in his PFL debut, dominating Brazil’s Cleiver Fernandes.
