Chase Sexton Reclaims the Red Plate with Glendale Supercross Victory

Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Chase Sexton returned to the top of the podium with an impressive win at the Monster Energy AMA Supercross season’s first Triple Crown event. Battling through a demanding three-race format at State Farm Stadium, Sexton’s (3-3-2) finishes were enough to secure the overall victory and regain the championship points lead.

After opening the season with a win, Sexton had been chasing consistency, and Glendale proved to be his moment to reclaim control. The track’s massive jumps, tricky rhythm lanes, and high-speed sand section challenged the field, but Sexton’s calculated riding paid off.

“The first two races were chaos,” Sexton said. “I had to fight really hard to get to a good position and be on the podium. In the last race I made a dumb mistake and let Eli get by me. Honestly, I’m a little bummed I didn’t win that last race; I wanted that one. But I got the overall win and that’s what we’re here to do. We’re here to win and get the red plate back, and consistency paid off tonight. My speed was good… we’re in a good spot and I’m ready to fight for this thing.”

Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Cooper Webb finished second overall with (1-5-3) race scores, while Ken Roczen (4-1-5) rounded out the podium. Reigning champion Jett Lawrence suffered a DNF in Race 3 after a hard landing caused knee pain, dropping him to eighth overall.

In the 250SX Class, Triumph Racing made history with Jordon Smith claiming the brand’s first-ever Supercross victory. His (2-3-1) finishes cemented a milestone moment for the sport.

With momentum on his side, Sexton now leads the charge as the Supercross series heads to Tampa, Florida, for Round 5 on February 8th. Fans can catch all the action live on Peacock, NBC, USA Network, and international platforms.
