Jacksonville Speedway Gears Up for World of Outlaws and appears on Dirty Right Rear Podcast

With the 2025 racing season ready to fire off, Kenny Dobson—longtime promoter of Jacksonville Speedway and director of the Midwest Open Wheel Association (MOWA)—is spearheading preparations for one of the year’s biggest events: the World of Outlaws on April 25th, 2025.

From track work to ticketing, Dobson and his team are putting in long hours to make sure the April showdown is a success. The event marks a pivotal moment for the Speedway, showcasing not just elite sprint car talent but also the dedication and resilience of the local racing community.

The upcoming World of Outlaws event has required meticulous preparation. With rainouts earlier in the season and essential track improvements in progress, the pressure is on. However, Dobson remains confident, as he mentioned on his appearance on this week’s Dirty Right Rear Podcast.

The conversation with Dobson extended beyond just race prep. Streaming, weather cancellations, and shifting fan behavior have created new challenges for local promoters. Still, Dobson believes transparency and maintaining strong ties with fans and racers are key.

MOWA’s Big Return to Farmington Empire Speedway

One of the biggest moments this season will be MOWA’s return to Farmington, MO, after nearly a decade. The series, which focuses on races within a two-hour radius of Springfield to reduce team costs, is hoping to revitalize interest in sprint car racing throughout the region.

Also on the calendar: the IRA Sprint Cars event on June 13th, the Carolyn Shoe Memorial on September 12th, and the prestigious Ron Milton Race of Champions on October 11th.

Dobson’s commitment goes beyond logistics. He’s devoted to honoring the region’s rich racing heritage—highlighted by his respect for traditional events like the Queen’s Royal—and ensuring the next generation of racers and fans continue to have a place to gather, compete, and celebrate their shared passion.

As the green flag nears for the World of Outlaws event, there’s little doubt Jacksonville Speedway, under Dobson’s leadership, is ready to roar into another season of high-speed, high-heart racing action.
