In the wake of devastation left behind by an F-3 tornado that tore through Forest Park and North St. Louis on May 16, 2025, the St. Louis Cardinals are stepping up to help their city rebuild. The storm caused millions of dollars in damage, and as families and businesses begin the long recovery process, the Cardinals are once again proving they’re more than just a baseball team—they’re a pillar of support for their community.
On June 6, the Cardinals united with the St. Louis Battlehawks, CITY SC, St. Louis Blues, Anheuser-Busch, FanDuel Sports Network, KMOV, Matrix Midwest, and KMOX Radio to host a special fundraiser for tornado relief efforts. Thanks to the incredible generosity of St. Louis sports fans, the initiative raised an impressive $155,000. Notably, FanDuel committed $25,000, and Anheuser-Busch contributed $10,000 to the cause.
The support doesn’t end there. Cardinals Care—the team’s official community foundation—is continuing its efforts to rally fans for long-term support. In partnership with Raising Cane’s, fans can visit any of the 21 participating restaurants in Cardinals Nation and mention “Cardinals Care” on select dates to ensure a portion of the proceeds goes directly toward the tornado recovery fund. In addition to tornado recovery, the Cardinals continue to lead in other charitable efforts. Since 2009, they’ve been a proud partner of Susan G. Komen’s mission to end breast cancer. Over the years, the Cardinals team has raised more than $794,000, including $36,400 in 2024 alone, making them the top fundraising team at the event.
This year, the Cardinals are once again teaming up with Mercy, their official medical provider, to form a team for the 2025 Komen Greater St. Louis MORE THAN PINK Walk™, and they’re inviting fans to walk alongside them in support of a cure.
Through disaster recovery, health advocacy, and constant community engagement, the St. Louis Cardinals continue to show that their commitment extends far beyond the diamond—it’s rooted in the heart of the city they call home.
