Joaquin Niemann Makes LIV Golf History with Fourth 2025 Win at Virginia; Crushers GC Become League’s Most Successful Team

In a thrilling final round packed with weather delays, stunning shots, and a leaderboard loaded with major winners, it was a familiar face who emerged victorious at LIV Golf Virginia presented by Maaden. Torque GC Captain Joaquin Niemann delivered a flawless bogey-free 8-under 63 to capture his fourth win of the 2025 season—and sixth overall—becoming the winningest individual player in LIV Golf history.

“Pretty cool to be in this place, in this position right now,” said Niemann, who finished at 15-under-par, edging out Graeme McDowell and Anirban Lahiri by a single stroke. “I’m pretty thankful.”

Niemann’s Sunday dominance has become a theme in 2025, and his latest win adds to a historic run in which he’s claimed six titles in his last 21 regular-season starts. It also marks his first LIV Golf win on U.S. soil, having previously triumphed in Adelaide, Singapore, and Mexico City earlier this year, and in Mayakoba and Jeddah last season.

The drama at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club wasn’t limited to Niemann. Bryson DeChambeau’s Crushers GC, powered by a steady lineup and consistent top-tier performances, won their second consecutive team title and became the all-time winningest team in LIV Golf with eight total victories, including the 2023 Team Championship.

“I didn’t know we’ve won eight times, which is pretty cool,” said DeChambeau, who fired a 65 on Sunday. “It’s a testament to these guys. The roster hasn’t changed.”

The day’s action featured two rain delays and a bevy of compelling storylines. Former major champions Phil Mickelson, Bubba Watson, Martin Kaymer, and McDowell all contended for their first LIV Golf individual titles. Lahiri, the 36-hole leader, was chasing his first worldwide victory in a decade.

There were also standout performances from Lee Westwood and Ben Campbell, each carding 9-under 62s. Campbell set a new LIV Golf record with seven straight birdies. In classic Mickelson fashion, “Lefty” electrified the gallery with a miraculous backward-facing chip out of thick rough for a birdie, a shot DeChambeau called “one of the greatest shots I’ve ever seen in my entire life.”

“Vintage Phil,” he said.

“One of my better ones,” Mickelson responded with a grin.

As the field tightened late in the round, a furious birdie barrage erupted. At one point, six players were tied at 13 under. Niemann, however, broke away from the pack after the second weather delay with four consecutive birdies from holes 14 to 17, sealing his place atop the leaderboard yet again.

“He’s just so good,” said McDowell, who earned his first podium finish with back-to-back 66s. “He’s an absolute top-10 player in the world. You could argue top 5. Phenomenal, phenomenal player.”

DeChambeau and the Crushers, while disappointed not to sweep both individual and team titles, have reason to be confident. DeChambeau has now finished in the top 5 in six consecutive worldwide starts, including two majors. With solid contributions from teammates Paul Casey, Charles Howell III, and Anirban Lahiri, Crushers GC moved into second place overall behind Legion XIII in the season standings.

“We’re a beast of a team,” DeChambeau declared.

As the LIV Golf season continues, Niemann’s brilliance and the Crushers’ cohesion remain the gold standard, rewriting the record books one event at a time.
