Green Bay Packers standout running back Josh Jacobs will trade cleats for horsepower this Sunday, June 22, as he rides in the Fastest Seat in Sports, leading the NTT INDYCAR SERIES field to green at the XPEL Grand Prix at Road America Presented by AMR in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin.
Jacobs, who signed with the Packers in March 2024, made an immediate impact in his first season in Green Bay. The dynamic back rushed for 1,329 yards and 15 touchdowns, earning his third career Pro Bowl nod. His powerful running style and ability to break games open made him a fan favorite in Titletown.
Before his NFL stardom, Jacobs helped Alabama capture a national championship in 2017. He was selected in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft by the then-Oakland Raiders and quickly proved his worth, racking up 1,150 rushing yards in his rookie season—breaking Marcus Allen’s franchise rookie rushing record. That performance earned him NFL All-Rookie Team honors and Offensive Rookie of the Year from the Pro Football Writers Association.
Jacobs’ most dominant campaign came in 2022, when he led the entire NFL in rushing with 1,653 yards, was named a first-team All-Pro, earned another Pro Bowl selection, and received the inaugural Jim Brown Award as the league’s top running back.
On Sunday, Jacobs joins a growing list of celebrities who have experienced the thrill of INDYCAR’s Fastest Seat in Sports, a custom two-seat INDYCAR vehicle that leads the field to the starting line at breakneck speed. This season has already featured NFL icon Tom Brady and MLB legend Alex Rodriguez, while past riders include Jon Bon Jovi, Diplo, Riley Green, Judge Reinhold, Dylan Sprouse, and Olympic gold medalist Sam Watson.
Coverage of the XPEL Grand Prix at Road America Presented by AMR begins at 12:30 p.m. CST (1:30 p.m. ET) on FOX, FOX Deportes, and the FOX Sports app. The NTT INDYCAR SERIES, known as North America’s premier open-wheel racing championship, brings drivers to speeds of 200+ mph across a mix of high-speed ovals and technical street and road courses.
With adrenaline, speed, and star power converging, Josh Jacobs’ lap in the Fastest Seat in Sports promises to be another memorable moment in the intersection of sports and motorsports.
