The almighty shock rock titans GWAR are unleashing The Return of Gor Gor Tour this fall, and they’re bringing some serious firepower with them. Joining the blood-soaked celebration are none other than Helmet, legendary alt-metal pioneers whose precision riffs and pulverizing grooves bring a whole new layer of heaviness to the already unhinged lineup. Rounding out the bill are punk miscreants The Dwarves and sludge upstarts Blood Vulture, ensuring no stage is left standing.
Kicking off October 18 in Salt Lake City, the tour marks GWAR’s 40th anniversary, a monumental milestone for the band that has spent four decades redefining live chaos, theatrical mayhem, and grotesque alien supremacy. The tour supports GWAR’s upcoming multimedia release, The Return of Gor Gor, arriving July 25 via Pit Records and Z2 Comics.
The new release resurrects one of GWAR’s most feared creations—Gor Gor, the crack-fueled mutant dinosaur with a bloodlust unmatched in the known universe. The vinyl will feature three blistering new GWAR tracks, mixed by Kurt Ballou (Converge), alongside four live cuts captured during the band’s 2024 rampage. A 32-page comic chronicles Gor Gor’s long-awaited return, available with all editions. Limited vinyl pressings will feature stunning animated etchings, with exclusive color variants through GWAR.net and Z2Comics.com.
Before the full tour erupts, GWAR will decimate select cities throughout the summer and early fall, including festival appearances at Riot Fest, Aftershock, and the Gathering of the Juggalos.
