Sony State of Play – September 2025(WITH TRAILERS!)

Sony presented one more of its State of Play streaming showcases on Thursday, just ahead of the release of slot-in Game of the Year candidate Ghost of Yotei, which releases next week. If you weren’t excited enough to return to feudal Japan, Sony delivered even more excitement once you’ve sheathed your sword. From first looks at Housemarque’s new dystopian loop-shooter Saros, to a bloody…super bloody…Wolverine gameplay reveal, a niche new remake, and a controller of war, Sony scorched our retina displays. Here’s what they handed us:

Reminding us a bit of Disco Elysium, because it should, the D.E. dev ZA/UM showcased their next narrative-first RPG: Zero Parades – For Dead Spies. Ripe with style and depth, its important to note that “interesting” change of events that ousted the original Disco Elysium team from its company and IP, and those original creators had nothing to do with the development of Zero Parades. Still looks cool.

It’s almost out. Everyone has interacted with the BETA. It looks awesome. Sony wanted us to see more of the campaign though.

Not sure how many hardcore pilots you’ll find playing this over on the PS5, but if you have a PS5 and haven’t gotten to experience likely the best simulation experience out of all the simulation experiences that have flooded the market, this thing right here will blow your freakin’ mind and is 100% worth checking out.

Maybe a niche audience, sure, especially for the orignal, but there are plenty of us excited about the return of one of the best immersive espionage sims out there, 25 years later. Augments up.

I friggin’ love Housemarque. The Finnish game studio has had me hooked since we were twin-sticking it back in ’94. In 2025, however, we get a Returnal-like bullet-hell in Saros. If you’ve played Returnal, it will look strikingly familiar. That game was a new version of Housemarque’s staple of style in the industry, and Saros looks to continue that innovation of bullet mania and flying rings. And that shield looks SO kickass.

I did. And it’s SUCH a good series too. For all the “souls” players out there, here’s a brand new, very dramatic, trailer. Game drops in February.

Super bloody. Like, way more blood than we thought. And a decent amount of dismemberment too. Pretty wild. Anyway, Insomniac is further expanding upon their Marvel license with the highly anticipated Wolverine, and coming off of three excellent Spider-Man games, we finally got to see the bloody gameplay for our new super. This looks like its going to hit in all of the right places. F-U-N.

We’ve had better designed God of War limited edition controllers, but for a nice, clean and simple look, you can still fan out on this iconic design on October 23rd.

Compatible with just about everything, Sony revealed some slick new speakers. Here they are. They definitely have the look of a Playstation product.

A book-themed platforming adventure that asks you to dive into the pages of its endless thousand-year story and put an end to its great mystery? Um, yes. Also, I haven’t seen an art style quite like this, and I’m totally here for it. We love a good new art style.
